Verification Gateway

First impressions matter, but so does security. The Verification System by Zero Degree is your server’s initial “bunker”—a mandatory check-in point that ensures only real, intended humans can join your community conversation.

Without a gateway, anyone (including automated raid bots and “self-bots”) can join and immediately start spamming your channels. By setting up a verification gate, you force new arrivals to complete a simple task before they can see or interact with the rest of your server.

Configuration is straightforward. Run /verify setup to begin the interactive process:

  1. Select a Channel: Choose a dedicated “landing” channel (e.g., #verify-here).
  2. Choose the “Passed” Role: This is the role ZeD will grant to users once they pass.
    • Pro Tip: Ensure this role has permission to view your main channels, while @everyone does not.
  3. Choose Your Mode: Pick the level of security your server needs (see below).

This is the most user-friendly mode. A single, professional “Verify” button appears in your chosen channel.

  • Scenario: Best for most communities that want a bit of friction to stop “drive-by” spammers without annoying real users.
  • How it works: The user clicks the button, and ZeD instantly grants them the “Passed” role.

For servers under heavy attack or those that prioritize absolute security.

  • Scenario: Use this if you are experiencing frequent raids by sophisticated bot accounts that can “click” buttons.
  • How it works: When a user clicks “Verify,” ZeD sends a unique, distorted image with a code. The user must type the correct code into a popup modal to gain access.
  • Status: Run /verify status to see your current setup, including the target role and active mode.
  • Disable: If you ever need to “open the doors” completely, use /verify disable.

[!TIP] Combine with AutoMod. Even with a verification gate, some bad actors might get through. Always ensure your AutoMod is active to catch anyone who passes verification but starts breaking rules immediately.
