Logging Engine
Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to server management. The Zero Degree Logging Engine provides a microscopic view of your server’s activity, allowing you to track exactly who did what, when, and where.
🧐 Why Logging Matters
Section titled “🧐 Why Logging Matters”Without logs, you’re flying blind. If a message is deleted, a role is changed, or a user is kicked, you need to know who was responsible. ZeD’s logging is designed to be cleaner, faster, and more detailed than Discord’s built-in Audit Log.
⚙️ Setting Up Your Logs
Section titled “⚙️ Setting Up Your Logs”Configuration is handled through the /logs command. It opens a powerful interactive dashboard where you can manage every aspect of your logging setup.
Event Categories
Section titled “Event Categories”We’ve grouped logs into logical categories so you can route them to different channels:
- 💬 Message Events: Tracks message edits, deletions (including bulk deletes), and creations.
- 👥 Member Events: Monitors joins, leaves, nickname changes, and role assignments.
- 📢 Channel Events: Alerts you when channels are created, deleted, or renamed.
- 🎭 Role Events: Tracks the creation, deletion, and permission updates of roles.
- 🔨 Moderation Events: Detailed reports on bans, unbans, and timeouts.
- 🎤 Voice Events: Monitors users joining, leaving, or moving between voice channels.
- 🏠 Server Events: Tracks changes to server settings, vanity URLs, and integrations.
🚀 Quick Setup
Section titled “🚀 Quick Setup”Overwhelmed by options? Use the Quick Setup button in the /logs menu. Zero Degree will automatically:
- Create a new Category for your logs.
- Create dedicated channels for each major event type.
- Link everything together instantly.
🪝 Webhook Integration
Section titled “🪝 Webhook Integration”For high-traffic servers, standard bot messages can sometimes hit Discord’s rate limits. ZeD supports Webhooks for logging, which provides a more stable and professional look for your log channels.
- Enable Webhooks: Toggle this in the
/logscategory menu to switch from bot-sent messages to webhook-sent messages.
[!TIP] Pro-Tip: Selective Logging. You don’t need to log everything. For very active servers, we recommend disabling “Voice Events” or “Message Edits” in public channels to keep your logs readable and your database fast.
